Hello from Kakadu

Have now had a few days in Kakadu. For those of you who have not been up this part of the world I cant tell you how stunning it is. We are continuosly in awe of the things we are seeing. Yesterday we did some 4WD to get to Twin Falls and Jim Jim Falls. Swimming in beautiful pools underneath 200 metre cliff faces.
We did have to do quite a lot of hiking over boulders to get there. Will is proving to be a bit of a mountain goat and Ivy on the other hand, well lets just say I dont see her doing kakoda in this life. The boys saw there first alt Water croc last night while they were fishing (much excitement from Will). In Kakadu for another night. Off to see uranium mine today and then to Ubirr top of Kakadu to look at some aboriganal rock art. Tomorrow we will head to Darwin with a detour on the way for a cruise of the wetlands.

Hello from Nitmiluk NT

Hi Everyone, Well its seems like weve been gone such a long time. Probably because we have seen so much in 2!/2 weeks. We arrived in Katherine a couple of days age and I think its been 38 everyday. Its hard to believe were in the same country. Its humid and we spend a lot of our time in water. Murray and the kids are in the pool now. Today we cruised down Katherine gorge which was just so beautiful and we did some swimming in the river along the way. Feeling very tired at the moment as I seem to be spending the nights chasing dingoes and wallabies away from our food etc. The wallabies ate all our bread last night they also ate a heap of our brochures. Hey nobody ever tols me there was like a zillion grams of sugar in g & t's. I thought it would be better than drinking beer for three months. Oh forgot to mention we saw a rather long green snake on our walk thismorning.
We are planning on spending a few more days at nitmiluk however we are going to move to a different part to set up camp. (edith falls)
Then off to kakadu where I will post again. Miss you All. xx

Hello from Alice

Hi Everyone, Well we from our very Anglosaxon Woodend are having a huge education up here. Its fantastic. The weather is getting warmer everyday. 27 today and 34 in Tennant Creek where we are heading tomorrow. We spent a couple of days at Kings Canyon and have now spent three days in Alice Springs. We just happened to fluke to be here for the Henley On Todd Regatta. (hilarious)I think will enjoyed it the most. Must say definately getting old though when Im more interested in the food than the alcohol. We visited Hermansberg old aboriganal mission town. Very depressing though it was nice to be able to have lunch with some of the locals at the local store. This was our first good look at an aboriginal community. Will sat up on the camping trailor waving to all the school kids. Murray cant help himself if hes not fixing someones generator hes making modifications to our trailer. Hope to post again in a few days from Mataranka. Oh the favorite game this week was counting car parts on the side of the road. Very dull.

Day 6 and we arrived in the Northern Territory.

Hi everyone. This morning we left Coober Pedy (very windy and dusty) And still poor. We went fossicking for opals without any joy. I bet you all want to hear that we finally had to put the aircon on today in th car. Still getting use to setting everything up each night. Tomorrow we will be at Ularu and will finally set up camp for more than one night. Having said that we did cheat last night and stayed in an underground motel in Coober Pedy.
